Ace music director Manisharma had provided many foot-tapping and melodious tunes. One can never forget the mesmerizing music and dances of Mega Star Chiranjeevi in the blockbuster Choodalani Undi.
Manisharma speaking to scribes shared the secrets of Choodalanudi. On Chiru's reaction about having new director for his film, he said, "A small drama was enacted then. Ram Gopal Varma who already worked with Rahman, went to Ashwini Dutt and Chiranjeevi and told that Rahman sent tunes for the film. Chiranjeevi after listening to the songs liked them very much. Then RGV revealed that those were composed by Manisharma."
“Rahman told me that music director should learn how to sing or else they will suffer. At that time I didn’t understand why Rahman said that but I am suffering now.”
About differences with Chiranjeevi over Raamma Chilakamma song, he said "Nothing of that sort happened. He always thinks of dazzling with his dances and coming up with powerful expressions. Raamma Chilakamma song has Kolkata flavor and needed new voice. I recorded the song with Udith Narayan. Till that time Chiru had only Balasubrahmanyam voice. So Chiru didn’t get connected with Udith's voice.
First time listeners didn’t love the song and Chiru remarked 'emtidi rompa voice laga undi. idi vaddu'. We recorded another song sitting two days nonstop. Voting was conducted in the sets by the producers and the director. Raamma Chilakamma by Udit Narayan got good votes. Later Chiranjeevi said that sometimes mistakes happen in the judgment. The moment Chiranjeevi performs, any song will automatically gets the mileage. His acting and dances will have such wonderful presence"
"Similar incident happened in Ram Charan's debut film Chirutha. The team didn’t like Ososi Rakasi song. Director asked me to delete the song. Chiranjeevi too asked 'Mani why are you so adamant? Can’t you come up with another tune". When Asiwni Dutt asked, I told him, "I am having full confidence on the song which has novelty and melody". After the audio launch, it became the number one song."
"I did many films with Mahesh Babu. He is very close to me. But somewhere disturbance happened between us. I might have spoken hurting him. My last three big films were Sakthi, Teenmar and Khaleja. All of them have chartbusters. Still I don’t understand my mistake. None is approaching me now."
When asked whether he contacted Mahesh, he said "I didn’t get that chance to meet him. I may not chance even after two hundred films. They might have changed, but I considered them as my own brothers."
