Of late top producer and distributor Dil Raju is running a lean patch of his career as a distributor with a series of huge flops. He invested a huge sum of Rs.50 crores on Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Agnyathavasi and Prince Mahesh Babu's Spyder films. Sadly, the end results of both the films gave nightmarish experience to Dil Raju.
Apparently, Dil Raju is risking again acquiring the rights of another big film. It is a known news that Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth's Kaala is hitting screens on June 7. Dil Raju owned the Nizam rights of the film.
In fact, Kaala is carrying low key buzz at the moment. Telugu buyers and exhibitors showed no interest on the project. May it be because Rajini's eroding craze as an actor or else, due to his political entry, expectations are at rock bottom on the film now.
Yet, producer Dhanush has a last laugh selling out his project to two top distributors Dil Raju from Nizam and NV Prasad from Ceded area. It's also assumed if Dhanush used the names of these top distributors for a safe release and promised them not to lose a single rupee with the film.
In the meanwhile, Kaala team convened a press meet which was attended by Rajini, Dhanush, AM Ratnam, Dil Raju and NV Prasad. Dil Raju said he distributed Rajini's Narasimha in 1999 and is releasing another film of Rajini after 19 years. NV Prasad said Rajini paid money back to him for the losses incurred for Baba.
