TDP can stoop to any level as it desperately needs alliances before the general polls. The track record of Chandrababu Naidu led TDP says there has been no victory for the TDP for any general elections without alliances.
Since TDP strategically distanced from BJP, it needs another national party's support to go through well in next general elections. Predicting the possible enquires by CBI in near future on corruption charges, the TDP's head has decided to extend support to the Congress party in the Karnataka elections. A group led by Ashok Babu was already sent to Karnataka to campaign against the BJP. TDP has reportedly paid Rs.1.5 lakhs for flight tickets for Ashok Babu and Kathi Mahesh's group.
On the other hand, Congress party's leader Megastar Chiranjeevi, who was supposed to campaign for the victory of Congress in Karnataka, is known to have been annoyed with the Congress and TDP's bond. As such he might have cancelled the campaigning in Karnataka elecitons. If the TDP and the Congress get tied up for next general polls, Chiranjeevi will be distancing from the party.
