In a huge shocker to BJP in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar bye-election, SP-BSP allies and RJD got the lead in three prestigious Lok Sabha seats. Going by the reports, the Samajwadi Party’s Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel has won Phulpur Lok Sabha seat by 59,613 votes.
In Gorakhpur, SP’s Praveen Kumar Nishad leads by 25,870 votes so far with 3,34,463 votes. BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla stood at second with 3,08,593 votes. Interestingly, both Gorakhpur and Phulpur turned too prestigious for BJP as the constituencies were represented by UP's CM Yogi Adityanadh and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.
In the bye-election to Bihar's Araria Lok Sabha constituency, BJP's Pradeep Kumar Singh failed to take the seat back. He is now trailing to Sarafaraz Alam of RJD by about 24,000 votes.
