Sai Pallavi became overnight star post the stupendous success of Fidaa. In fact, major credit of the film’s success was given to the talented actress. Although Varun Tej played protagonist, Sai Pallavi’s performance was lauded by critics as well as audience than anything else. Media hardly spoke about Sekhar Kammula who put his heart and soul to make a wholesome entertainer.
Interestingly, Sai Pallavi refused few film offers in the meantime saying she will only pick films which will have scope for her to showcase acting prowess. Her second straight Telugu movie MCA turned out as an average grosser even with mixed to negative talk owing to many positive factors around it. Besides Sai Pallavi’s presence, the film had Nani essaying male lead and successful producer Dil Raju bankrolled it. Recently, Sai Pallavi shocked Dil Raju by refusing to star in his next production venture.
Equations have been changed now swiftly and Telugu stars and filmmakers are not considering Sai Pallavi for their films. Right now, the Fidaa lady has only one Telugu project in her kitty. She is the leading lady opposite Sharwanand in Hanu Raghavapudi’s new directorial. Pallavi’s other film Kanam co-starring Naga Shourya and is done with production works is slated for release in summer.
On the other hand, Varun Tej who scored his first commercial hit with Fidaa is cashing on the success. His last movie Tholi Prema with debut director Venky Atluri is ending as an above average grosser.
Varun Tej has some interesting projects under pipeline. He will soon be teaming up with Ghazi fame director Sankalp Reddy for a science fiction film where Varun Tej will be seen as an astronaut. It is also heard that, few star directors are keen to work with Varun Tej who is in career best form.
