Telugu audience can never forget Legend NTR's superhit film Ramudu Bheemudu. Vijaya Productions decided to remake the film with MGR as a hero in Tamil with the title Engaveettu Pillai. The film's shooting was going on in Vahini Studios and producer Nagireddy saw his assistant director approaching him in a tensed manner.
He said that MGR wants to speak to Narasaraju. Since DV Nrasaraju who penned the story for Ramudu Bheemudu was by his side both of them went to meet MGR. On the sets, makers were shooting the scene featuring villager Bheemudu leaving the hotel without paying bill after leaving the hotel.
MGR objected to the scenes saying, my fans will not accept me seeing in a scene showing me escape without paying the bill. Change the scene. Narasaraju tried explaining MGR the importance of scene on how it will later reveal Ramudu and Bheemudu interchange their characters. Even then MGR was adamant and Narasaraju handled the situation deftly saying, Mister MGR.. sorry. As a writer, this is my opinion. It is now left to you.
MGR after a thought completed the scene for the day and later in another scene delivered the dialogue 'cha..cha.. billu eggotti enta pani chesanu.. repu dabbulu ragane hotel vadiki billu chellistanu' to compensate for the earlier scene. MGR penned this dialogues on own and ensured that his image in the hearts of his fans do not get tarnished.
