BJP MLA T Raja Singh Lodh on Tuesday demanded that the State Government impose a ban on release of movie Padmavati in Telangana State.
In a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Raja Singh said the movie, directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali, hurts the sentiments of Hindu community and it was depicts manipulated history of Rani Padmavati. Stating that the movie was banned in States like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, he said that the Telangana Government should also ban the movie till the needed changes are done.
Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, the magnum opus is set for release on Dec 1.
