In a surprising move, Indian PM Narendra Modi along with US President Donald Trump watched Indian epic Ramayana. Not only Modi and Trump became part of this historic event but also all World leaders.
Yes, the incident happened at the opening ceremony of the 31st ASEAN Summit where Ramayana was being performed in Phillippines. ASEAN Summit is a semiannual meeting held by the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in relation to economic and cultural development of Southeast Asian countries. Now many may wonder what can be the connection between Indian epic Ramayana and Phillippines.
Indologists Juan R Francisco and Josephine Acosta Pasricha revealed that Hinduism and folklore had its influence on entire world way back in 9th and 10th century AD.
Ramayana is called as Maharadia Lawana in Phillippines. A popular troupe performed the ballet, Rama Hari on Maharadia Lawana in Manila based on Maharadia Lawana which was watched by world leaders like Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe among others.
‘The Ramayana is widely popular among ASEAN nations. I compliment the cast and crew of Rama Hari for their stupendous performance at the ASEAN Summit,’ said Modi.
