Tamil Top star Vijay's latest offing Mersal is doing exceptionally well at the Kollywood's box office. It is a known news that Vijay's dialogues against GST and digital India gave jitters to the BJP and they made protests to remove controversial scenes against them.
However, many bigwigs from politics and cine field stood in support of Vijay. As we reported earlier, Kamal Haasan extended his solidarity on Mersal.
"Mr. Modi, Cinema is a deep expression of Tamil culture and language. Don't try to demon-etise Tamil pride by interfering in Mersal," posted AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi in his twitter page.
Eminent cinematographer PC Sreeram made an outburst on BJP's pressure on the makers of Mersal. "#Mersal Freedom of speech caught by the throat," posted PC Sreeram.
"BJP demands deletion of dialogues in 'Mersal'. Imagine the consequences if 'Parasakthi' was released today," fired former finance minister P Chidambaram on BJP.
"#MersalControversy stooping further 2 a new low #TN #bjp leaders use #actorvijay’s Christian name 2 get back on #Mersal attacking faith Bad," Nagma said.
