Not once or twice, Sharwanand humiliated Nandamuri heroes thrice in last two year seasons by pitting his films opposite Balakrishna and Junior NTR in favorable festive seasons. Every time, Sharwanand survived the stiff competition and came out as a surprising winner denting the revenues of films from Nandamuri heroes.
For example, Sharwanand’s Express Raja was released opposite to Junior NTR Nannaku Prematho and Balakrishna Dictator in 2016 Pongal season. Despite Balayya and Tarak got good mouth talk for their respective flicks, Sharwanand emerged as right winner in comparison with budgetary equations.
Later for Pongal 2017, the phenomenon repeated. This time Sharwanand’s Shatamanam Bhavati spoiled to the good moods of Gauthami Puthra Satakarni in Nandmauri camp when trade declared Dil Raju’s production as clear cut victorious.
Cut to Dasara season in last month, Sharwanand did not spare Junior NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa when his Mahanubhavudu locked the horns. Trade buzz says, Mahanubhavudu is on a minting spree earning high returns on investment made.
Handicapped with big budgets, Nandamuri stars failed to compete with low or medium budgeted content rich wholesome, clean family entertainers Sharwanand is picking up helped by a terrific release strategy. All in all, brand Sharwanand is not leaving Nandamuri heroes. For upcoming seasons, Nandamuri heroes should take care of this opposition.
