Rahul Gandhi Says Special Status Is AP's Right

The AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi proclaimed that special category status for AP state is the right to the AP state's people. He assured that the Congress party along with its coalition parties would fight tor the special status of AP. Furthermore, he assured the Congress party would announce the same after winning the elections in 2019. 

Rahul Gandhi attended 'Pratyekha Hodha-Bharosa Sabha' held in Guntur on Sunday. The meeting was also graced by Janata Dal-United leader Sharad Yadav, Communist Party of India national Secretary S. Sudhakar Reddy, and Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and state Congress chief Raghuveera Reddy. Following are the excerpts of Rahul Gandhi's speech.

* Special status is AP's right and Congress and allied parties would fight for achieving the goal.

* The PM Narendra Modi speaks much about Hindu Dharma. Prior to general elections, he promised AP people in Tirupathi that he would give special status to the state. But then, he went back to his decision in spite of making such a huge promise on the foot of the sacred temple. 

* CM Chandrababu and YS Jagan are not demanding special status as they were threatened by Modi.

* In spite of union government gave nod to sanctioning funds to Polavaram project, CM said he would incur funds from state's capital just to gain commissions. 

* The PM made a poll promise of 2 crores of posts recruitment. However, as of now, he could manage to give only one lakh jobs for the unemployed. 

* Swach Bharat and Make in India programs are publicity stunts.
