Blame it on wrong release timing when students are spending sleepless nights preparing for the final exams, two of the promising thrillers ‘Nagaram’ starring Sundeep Kishan and ‘16’ from Rahaman failed to show any pickup at Box Office despite opened to strong reviews. Unfortunately, poor promotions helped the public to keep these films out of their weekend watch.
More than all, dubbing films cannot catch the ticket counter heat unless audiences are advised about the merits. Negative frame of mind on Sundeep Kishan’s flop streak has also done great damage as majority neglected ‘Nagaram’ for its opulent dubbing look. Meanwhile, we heard that Tamil version ‘Maanagaram’ is faring little better than Telugu and that too only in multiplexes.
‘16’ made as an experimental investigative thriller starring Rahaman as hero also fell in the same line of ‘Nagaram.’ Reviews have been really positive but revenues aren’t reflecting the same talk. The major forecast in film trade circles is, dry spell at Box Office will continue till ‘Katama Rayudu’ arrives in the month end.
