As an artist, Manoj Manchu’s passion and dedication at work can’t be questioned. But this isn’t enough for an artist to get lucky at Box Office to enjoy a commercial breakthrough. Sometimes, all the hard work he puts into a wrong assignment might go wasted without gaining any recognition. Manoj is a bit lucky because critics and common audience are appreciating him for all the efforts put even into scrap scripts.
Manoj almost got close to achieving a break with his last release ‘Gunturodu’ but missed by a whisker. Yes, this regular commercial action script has got sufficient meat to cater the low centre audience with high octane fights and goose bump punch dialogues in the effectively written hero-villain conflict.
Despite a fact that Manoj bent his back generating an impact on amazingly designed action blocks but rest of the narration on story and entertainment fronts went to air due to debutant director’s inexperience, said a senior critic. Had there been little more focused direction, ‘Gunturodu’ could have reached its target.
