Checkmating the sudden revolt by O Panneerselvam unwilling to bow with pressure tactics aspiring to continue as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in the footsteps of demised leader Jayalalitha, here comes VK Sasikala establish her control over the ruling AIADMK. At an emergency party meeting held, 131 out of the 134 AIADMK legislators supported Sasikala’s CM candidature.
Sasikala accused Paneerselvam on betrayal reassuring that her ambition is only to deliver the promises and good governance of Amma. ‘I hope all of you who loved Amma will also be with me,’ Sasikala said.
While Sasikala stands above the magic figure of 117 needed to establish the Government, Panneerselvam merely has strength of 3 MLAs. As Tamil Nadu political future depends on Governor C Vidyasagar Rao’s discretionary power in inviting Chinnamma or OPS to prove the majority, Guv is reportedly set to arrive in Chennai tomorrow afternoon.
As per the reports we have from Tamil media friends, Guv will first meet Tamil Nadu caretaker Chief Minister OPS and then AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala Natarajan separately before taking the final conclusion.
Meanwhile, 130+ AIADMK MLAs supporting Chinnamma are ferried away to a five star hotel in an undisclosed location. Sasikala is also trying to take some time from President to parade his MLAs in New Delhi.
