Satellite rights have been a big source to secure producers investments. There was a time in the past when all the leading TV channels like Sun Network, MAA TV and ZEE TV were bidding highest prices for all the films released in Telugu industry, irrespective of the casting and production quality. Tightening the norms, TV channel managements have controlled the money flows and many heroes have lost their satellite value.
As per reports, when ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ was facing financial issues connected with release, producer PV Rao approached TV channel mediators bargaining for a fancy price. However, quotes were far below expected numbers and PV Rao dropped all his satellite rights plans.
The gimmick worked. EPC has drawn huge crowds for first weekend with positive reviews. Now the same TV channel managements have come to the terms with PV Rao and MAA TV paid almost double of the bargained quote closing the deal at fancy Rs. 3.5 Crores price. That’s the gamble and Nandita Swetha saved them big time.
