Telugu cinemas are majorly hero centric. A hero will be always the savior. Without a strong hero, none of the producers and directors comes forward to invest a budget. So, hero’s image is directly proportional to budget and of course Box Office performance too. Currently, every hero in our industry is fighting hard to increase his market range. For example, Nithin and Nani have stepped up the ladder and are seen today as medium to big scale heroes.
Except ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ wherein director Maruthi’s surprising brand transformation helped the film and Nani to evolve big, rest of the two releases from Nani like ‘Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha’ and ‘Gentleman’ succeeded partially to win the Box Office game alone on Nani’s stature.
KGVPG opened to forced high ratings from critics. This helped the movie to get moderate to big openings in America. But, the start it took wasn’t long lasting as collections dropped drastically after first weekend thus failing to reach Million dollar club. Now, the scenario is almost repeating because ‘Gentleman’ isn’t attracting the crowds so extensively. Trade buzz says, this might be one more KGVPG but not a BBM.
