"The Emergency" in India was declared by then PM Indira Gandhi for 21 months between 1975 and 1977. During emergency, people lost all of their civil rights. Media too, was controlled by the Government to some extent.
Having seen yellow media's restrictions on the coverage of Mudragada Padmanabham's deeksha news, some of the senior citizens are remembering the days of emergency. Dasari Narayana Rao was also shocked with the unprecedented bias of yellow media towards the AP Government. He said, " Some of the TV channels do not even give a half minute coverage on our meeting news. During emergency itself, there were no such restrictions on media."
However, political analysts say, Dasari should understand the fact that the AP Government should not be blamed alone. Most of the yellow media are voluntarily coming forward to stall the news of Mudragada, Kapu leaders and related news bulletins and some caste factors are responsible for their ban on above said news.
