Mahesh Babu’s ‘Brahmootsavam’ and Nithin’s ‘A… Aa’ movies are two complete family entertainers meant to speak on relationships between family members. Tragically, Mahesh was frustrated to the core with a damp squib Box Office result while Nithin is enjoying all the attention with a positive talk spreading fast on his film. A relative comparison between these two movies of same genre distinguishes the main reasons on why Srikant Addala and Trivikram Srinivas are not the same.
Yes, ‘Brahmotsavam’ first half had no proper content and second half suffered further more with no basic storyline and screenplay. Srikant and Mahesh just concentrated on lavish presentation with screen full of artists. The trick failed miserably because scope for entertainment is only possible when you have a tangible central plot.
In fact, ‘A… Aa’ appeared to be traveling on the same lines of ‘Brahmotsavam’ till first half which was meant only for hilarious fun and a romantic track without much exposed content wise. Thankfully, Trivikram is an intelligent player and when the flashback episodes of Nadhiya and Jaya Prakash are narrated in three perspectives, ‘A… Aa’ really picked in strength. Then it was Rao Ramesh and Trivikram showed their magic in climax. Those areas where ‘Brahmotsavam’ failed to score, ‘A… Aa’ was terrific. While Mahesh failed in grasping the essence in script, Nithin clenched it properly. Bottom line is simple... content is always the king.
