Ace director Trivikram and his team seems to have been immensely inspired by 1973's film 'Meena' starrred by Superstar Krishna and Vijayanirmala. Ever since the movie hit the screens movie lovers claim the movie has strong resemblances with 'Meena' while some more people have gone overboard stating that the movie is a photocopy of 'Meena'. Following similarities between 'Meena' and 'A..Aa' have been observed by the movie patrons.
* Nadiya reprises S Varalakshmi's role of a rich and proud mother to Samantha. Naresh sports a meek husband to Nadiya as Gummadi did it for 'Meena' film. Vijayanirmala's role was played by Samantha. Nadiya feels humiliated by her sister-in-law in 'A..Aa' while S Varalakshmi misunderstands her sister-in-law in 'Meena'.
* Superstar Krishna is a nephew of Gummadi. Nithiin is seen in the same role in latest version. Samantha is sent by her dad to her aunt's house in a village for 10 days. In 'Meena' Gummadi sends Vijayanirmal to the village. Krishna's aim is to do the marriage of his sister. Nithiin is also endorsed the similar task.
* Rao Ramesh's character resembles Mikkilineni's role in 'Meena'.
* Nithiin's sister loves Avasarala Srinivas in 'A..Aa'. Chandrakala loves Jaggaiah in original version. Apart from these highlights, many other common features between both the films have been spotted.
