This is a strange scenario which we rarely witness for a star hero and high budgeted film. Call it a matter of prestige or a foolish adventure or the strong hope of revival; one does not know what is making ‘Brahmotsavam’ Nizam distributor Abhishek Pictures to continue the film’s run in massive number of screens yet majority of them are already facing deficits.
As per trade report, ‘Brahmotsavam’ is showing a sharp decline in revenues from day 2. Generally, distributors lift off the film from all those screens wherever collections fall under deficit. Surprisingly, few of the multiplexes are screening ‘Brahmotsavam’ for 10 to 16 shows without any public inflows. In the same way, single screens including those of main screens are also facing the same situations. For example, Tarakarama 70mm in Kachiguda is moving so dangerously and reports say it could have fallen in deficits yesterday.
Mahesh Babu is a star hero. His movies release in record number of theaters worldwide. Looks like, distributors are feeling the pressure from PVP and Mahesh Babu. May be, the distributor is forced to go with these many number of screens only for the sake of false honor. Relative analysis on ‘Brahmotsavam’ fourth and fifth day shares says the rest of story. Analysts also say, there’s no alternative movie to replace Mahesh Babu in theaters and this could be one more factor stopping the distributors.
