And now, passionate filmmaker Krish is directing Gauthamiputra Satakarni. This is the biopic of an ancient king who ruled Amaravati in 3rd century. The movie is being filmed in Morocco.
Allthough ace filmmaker Rajamouli is skilled at attempting various genres of movies like fantasies and socio fantasies, he has never preferred wielding megaphone for a historical entertainer. But the director's mindset seems to have been changed with 'Rudhramadevi' and 'Satakarni'. Prior to receiving the national award yesterday, he interacted with the media. He expressed his wish of directing the films based on the lives of ancient kings such as Ashoka, Akbar and Maharana Pratap. He said his grandmother was the best storyteller in his childhood. Some of the observers, however, feel that Krish and Gunasekhar might have created good impact on SSR contemplating to direct historical entertainers.
