A valid point raised by distributor Abhishek Nama of Abhisek Pictures expose the sour fact on what went wrong with ‘Loafer’ and its director Puri Jagannath. After suffering immensely with financial problems, Puri is these days either preferring to become a production partner or demanding high remuneration for each film. It is producer C Kalyan who has to open up on how much he paid to Puri Jagannath for delivering a flop product like ‘Loafer.’
‘There is a healthy practice in industry. Those who are paid a remuneration of above Rs. 1 Crore have to compensate by repaying certain amount if the loss on product is above 20 per cent. Mahesh Babu has repaid a portion of his remuneration and VV Vinayak has also done the same when ‘Aagadu’ and ‘Akhil’ respectively flopped. Puri Jagannath pocketed Rs. 8 Crores with ‘Loafer’ should also abide by the rules. He hasn’t come forward to return any money,’ Abhishek said.
From long past, we are very well informed on Puri Jagannath is in a financial mess owing to different reasons. This could be the reason he is not at all interested to return single rupee of his remuneration and filed the case in return to escape the pressure from ‘Loafer’ distributors.
