West Indies are the new champions of ICC world T20 cricket. Having faced hair raising moment during the final over of the match, the West Indians registered a dramatic victory with four sixes being hit by Brathwaite facing first four consecutive balls. West Indies has won the final battle with four wickets against England.
Winning the toss West Indies chose to field first. As each bowler maintained perfect line and length and the fielding was at top notch, England's score was restricted just to 155. Samuels, the one player who played quite sensibly and stood as the pillar of West Indies batting, won player of the match award.
With this remarkable victory, West Indies emerged as the only team in the world to have won two world cup one day tournaments (1975 and 1979) and two ICC World T20 cricket tourneys (2012 and 2016). And co-incidentally, women's squad of West Indies defeated Australia and won the Women's World T20 championship today itself.
And a huge sigh of relief for Indians is that the best batsman of the world cricket, Virat Kohli, was declared the 'Player of the Tournament' award.
