Post 'Baahubali' and 'Srimanthudu', Tollywood evidenced a couple of hits, super hits and blockbusters based on the money invested by the filmmakers. King Nagarjuna,'s 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' shocked everyone collecting around 50 crores. Hero Nani got career's biggest hit 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy'. The movie accumulated Rs.27 crores. 

Young Tiger NTR's 'Naannaku Prematho' and Gunasekhar's 'Rudhramadevi' also found their places in 50 crores club, though they were treated as above average films at the ticket windows.Sai Dharam Tej's 'Subramanyam for Sale' collected Rs.20 crores.

'Rajugari Gadhi' , 'Kumari 21F', 'Kshanam', 'Nenu Sailaja' and 'Express Raja' won the accolades of the critics and collected decent shares at the box office. 'Oopiri's collection status is awaited. 

Even though number of hits and super hits are exceptionally good, all the audiences and especially fans of star heroes are eagerly waiting for record breaking movies in collections. They like to see a Telugu cinema crossing 100 crores share. Though there have been many hits and feel good entertainers in the above list of movies, filmmakers are indebted to the audience much needed record breaking hits.

At this framework, forthcoming April and May convey a ray of hope for those audience who are waiting for record breaking hits. Power Star Pawan Kalyan's 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh', Stylish Star Allu Arjun's 'Sarrainodu' and Prince Mahesh's 'Brahmotsavam' stand in the race to quench the thirst of audience setting collection records. Let's hope for the best.
