Bollywood delivered a wonderful thriller ‘Special 26’ sometime ago with Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Kajal Agarwal in key leads. The perfect definition for a perfect screenplay based film, ‘Special 26’ attracted many South Indian film makers and heroes to eye on a remake but that wasn’t possible till this date with all South Indian languages remake rights held in the hands of producer cum director cum artist Thyaga Rajan.
He made numerable rounds to Hyderabad hunting a star hero who can fit into his protagonist characterization. There were initial debates on Nagarjuna or Raviteja might take up the central role. However, nothing finalized till now and latest we heard from Kollywood is Thyaga Rajan is all set to roll the Tamil version titled as ‘Irupathiyaaru 26’ with his son Prashanth as hero.
‘He waited for long time to make sure that Telugu and Tamil versions go parallel into production easing the production costs. With none of the Telugu actors found themselves suitable for the script, there is no other way than to go with Prashanth for Tamil version,’ a source from Kollywood informed.
