As we reported earlier, Prince Mahesh's 'Srimanthudu' is gossiped to have some similarities in the plot of Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Rudhraveena'.
As per the plot 'Rudhraveena' has an ideological clash between Suryam ( Chiranjeevi) and his father Bilahari Ganapathi Shastri (Gemini Ganeshan). Being Brahmin by birth Suryam has lot of social awareness and tries to bring forth a change among the villagers. Instead of taking the legacy of his dad as a musician, Suryam works hard to change the mindsets of drunkards. Finally, he gets succeeded in his attempts and even the Prime Minister comes to his village to felicitate him. Bilahari realizes his son's ideals and proudly addresses himself as Suryam's father rather than a great musician. 'Rudhraveena', which was produced by Mega Brother Nagababu, won three national awards and won the accolades from critics.
Interestingly, 'Srimanthudu' also has differences between father (Jagapathi Babu) and son (Mahesh). Mahesh has also social awareness in the movie. He adopts a village and tries to educate and changes the mind sets of the people of the village. Finally, he gets succeeded in all of his attempts. The only difference between 'Rudhraveena' and 'Srimanthudu' is that 'Rudhraveena' has the shades of a parallel movie while 'Srimanthudu' has been commercialized.
Well, if we compare the story of any new movie with old movies, definitely we get numerous instances. However, the kind of execution by the director brings the freshness and change in the story. It is still uncertain whether 'Srimanthudu' as the free make of 'Rudhraveena' or not. Yet again, the movie is expected to score a blockbuster given the image of Mahesh and the success track record and story narration by the director.
