Nandamuri Kalyanram, a passionate film maker and talented actor has off late seen good success in the form of ‘Patas.’ Post the stupendous result of ‘Athanokkade,’ his association with director Surender Reddy continued in the form of ‘Kick 2’ which is coming as a sequel to ‘Kick’ from Raviteja. The sequel project is almost completed except few patches of post production works and should have been released sometime ago.
Due to the chaos created by ‘Bahubali’ and ‘Srimanthudu,’ it looks like the chances are dim for ‘Kick 2’ to come up with a fixed release date. Apparently the strong news from close film circles is this project cost went overboard with escalated production expenses and NKR should plan an appropriate release date without wasting any more time. Although pre release business of few of the areas is closed, still NKR has a long way to go for recovering the investment. Moreover, Raviteja is not as big hero as Mahesh Babu to take competition from ‘Srimanthudu.’
Analysts are opining that, NKR’s weakness to strive for quality film making is damaging him on financial front regularly. May it be ‘Om,’ the first 3D project attempted in Tollywood left him disappointed and now despite a pre release positive talk on ‘Kick 2,’ how far it can leave a positive financial imprint is still a dilemma.
