‘Bahubali,’ the subject of entire Nation is receiving thumbs up response from Bollywood, Kollywood, Sandalwood and Malluwood relative to the divided talk spread in Tollywood from Day 1. Yes, Telugu critics and top reviewers in Hyderabad have shown just 3 to 3.25 stars for the film keeping the drawbacks exposed on front. Of course, collections are unstoppable in last three days and hopefully, the same wound continue even today.
However, twist in the tale is why Telugu critics were disappointed with ‘Bahubali’? Going by the credits of Rajamouli till date, he is the man who is always best at story narration with a tight, gripping screenplay wherein he digs to required characteristic depth for ripening the emotions or drama to strike a chord with audience. The snail paced narration with no great show of heroism as anticipated from Prabhas (something like ‘Chatrapthi’), un-excusable musical score and abrupt climax rushed in have left major section of Telugu viewers in anguish.
This has finally led to divided talk in two Telugu speaking states and also ratings got severely affected. For a film of this magnitude and hype, anything less than 4 stars rating should be called as an insult. But, our genuine critics did not mind plucking the negatives and restricting the ratings which are par below than many hit movies released in last two years or so. In contrast, Bollywood and other regional critics struck to 4 stars.
It is left up to one’s own imagination on what would be the scale of collections in AP and TS, if ‘Bahubali’ got uniquely positive reviews with nothing less than 4 star ratings.
