Universal hero Kamal Haasan's 'Papanasam' received positive reports on the day of its release. The movie is yet to reach break even. According to the reports, The movie was made with a budget of Rs.30 crores. Kamal Haasan reportedly charged Rs.20 crores remuneration for the movie, while production and remake rights were priced around Rs.8 crores. Prints and publicity costed Rs.2 crores to make it an overall estimated budget of Rs.30 crores.
However 'Papanasam's break even turns highly doubtful as the downfall in collections trend is hinting the same. It remains to be seen whether the movie proves to be the safe venture at the end of its long run or not.
Veteran heroine Gauthami made her comeback with 'Papanasam'. Ghibran has scored the music of the movie while Jeethu Joseph has directed the movie. Kamal Haasan's 'Viswaroopam 2' has been on sets for a long time.
