Shashi Kapoor Conferred with DSP Award
Veteran Bollywood hero and filmmaker, Shashi Kapoor was conferred with the highest award of Indian Cinema, Dada Saheb Phalke Award today by Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley in Mumbai.
Owing to his ill-health, Shashi Kapoor could not travel to Delhi for the award ceremony on May 3. So, Mr. Jaitley flew in Mumbai to confer the award on him. Shashi came on the stage on a wheelchair. He smiled and folded his hands in reverence.
Big B Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishekh Bachchan graced the award ceremony. An audio visual of Shashi Kapoor was screened at the venue. Shashi Kapoor received Padma Bhushan Award by the Government in 2011.
