A leading Telugu newspaper's report yesterday was quite embarrassing. According to the details, the government has lifted the ban of transfers of employees till September 30. Teachers counselling was supposed to be held through a quite transparent system of counselling. However, according to the newspaper's report, some of the teachers are trying to get transferred through political recommendations and by paying money. It is learnt that almost 1500 teachers transfers files are in pending on the table of educational minister, Ghanta Srinivasa Rao. It is because of these files, the minister has reportedly declared no teachers counselling this year. The newspaper also mentioned each teacher is ready to incur Rs.2 lakhs for the transfers. If it really happens, there will be a corruption of Rs.20 crores to Rs.25 crores done. The TDP's government at this juncture, may not wish to be treated as a corrupted government."As Ghanta is quite sincere, honest and against corruption, he is expected not be indulged this way of teachers transfers. Instead, he should announce the teachers counselling schedule immediately," says a Ghanta's supporter.
