To mark the 100 years of completion of Indian Cinema, Centenary Celebrations of Indian Cinema will be held from 21st September to 24th September in Chennai. The organizers of these celebrations have earlier thought of kick-starting the celebrations with Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Falke Award Winner, Dr.Akkineni Nageswara Rao's birthday celebrations, as ANR's 90th birthday falls on 20th of this month.
Since ANR has achieved a rare feat of completing 72 years as an actor in his professional career, his birthday celebrations in the '100 Years Cinema Celebrations' would have been an apt decision by the makers. However, it is learnt that Dasari Narayana Rao, who long ago developed rivalry on ANR, is opposing the decision of the organizers. Dasari has reportedly said that the event is not a personal affair of anybody's. Meanwhile, many fans of ANR and many more movie buffs heartily opined that ANR's birthday must be celebrated at the event.
