'Mahanakali' is the new film of Rajasekhar which has hit the screens yesterday after a pause in the actor and his wife (director) Jeevitha's career. Seems like the movie is targeted mainly for the front row audience with Rajasekhar spelling powerful dialogues in the role of a sincere cum dynamic Encounter Specialist in Hyderabad taking action against Mafia. While the first half is observed to be a bit gripping, they could not sustain the same tempo and hold on narration in second half.
May be due to low publicity or audience losing interest on Rajasekhar's regular police movies, the turn out at theatres on first day was found to be very sparse. In fact, lower class tickets which have to be sold off very quickly for this kind of flicks in B & C centers have also suffered. One of our representatives say that cinema halls screening 'Mahankali' were 'Khaali' (Empty) from the morning shows. More tragic is, critics reviews have also come out negative. Let us see, what 'Mahankali' do in next one week?
