Almost 90% of theaters in the entire state were occupied by either 'Naayak' or 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' for this Pongal. This factor, perhaps, irked some of the small producers. They have reportedly warned the exhibitors not to release their movies in theaters and instead, the small producers prefer to release their movies through DTHs. They set a deadline of 20th February to implement their idea. However, exhibitors are raising the following issues to be solved by the small producers.
* The movie should be made as a quality product either by its content or by its technology. Unless the movie is well made, no one will come forward to watch the movie. If that is the case, the maintenance of theaters will become a tough task.
* While screening some of the small budget movies, due to lack of audiences, the owners of cycle stands and canteens face huge losses.
* Forced screening of poor quality products lead to the permanent closure of theaters which include even multiplexes.
* Many small film producers do not publicize their movies and there will not be good openings to those movies.
PS: There are some exceptions to the above notions as the directors like Sekhar Kammula and some more directors direct feel good movies and exhibitors too, show interest screening their movies.
