ANR National Award is one of the prestigious awards to be instituted by Akkineni International Foundation. Many eminent personalities such as Hemamalini, Balachander, Vijayanirmala, Devanand and Lata Mangeshkar have received this prestigious award. One of the top directors of parallel cinema, Shyam Benegal, will receive this award on 27th January. Mr.Akkineni Nageswara Rao and T.Subbirami Reddy have jointly announced the name of this great director in a press meet held on 2nd January.
Shyam Benegal, as of now, received the prestigious honours such as Padma Bhushan award by the Goverment of India, Dada Saheb Falke etc. He directed the movies such as 'Nishanth', 'Ankur', 'Bhumika' 'Manthan' etc.
