It was 5th October, 1989. Tollywood had witnessed a never seen technically rich film with great directorial skills. King Nagarjuna emerged as the new youth icon of the tollywood with that movie. Every college student started singing the song 'Botany paathamundi matinee aata vundi deniko votu chepparaa' from the movie. Interestingly, cycle chain became the weapon of some of the students for some days.
'Siva's impact was seen in hundreds of movies which were released after 'Siva'. With this movie, Nagarjuna emerged as a trend setter of Telugu films. And director Ram Gopal Varma had become the top director of tollywood. Later, Nagarjuna acted in another trend setting film 'Annamayya'. So,Nagarjuna is considered to be the trend setter of Telugu films.
