Vempati China Satyam, the noted personality, who brought 'Kuchipudi' natyam the world wide fame, passed away on 29th July, 2012 at his residence in Chennai. He is survived by two sons. He was born on 25th October, 1929 at Kuchipudi of Krishna district.This dance guru was the guru of many eminent dancers and heroines of India such as Vyjayanthimala, Hemamalini, Rekha, Shobha Naidu, Purandeswari etc. He received Padma Bhushan award by the government of India for his services in the field of dance in the year, 1956. He was the dance director of more than 100 movies. He composed the dances in many master pieces of tollywood like 'Narthanasala'. He started 'Kuchipuri Art Academy' in Madras in the year, 1963. Later, he choreographed 15 dance dramas. Cinejosh expresses its condolences to the family members of this great legend of dance.
