Rajinikanth Coolie Targets 100 Cr Gross in Telugu

Massive Demand For Coolie In T-wood

Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Coolie, is expected to create a massive craze in Telugu, thanks to several factors. Firstly, the film stars the superstar himself, Rajinikanth, who has a huge following in Telugu-speaking states. Additionally, the film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has built a good reputation among Telugu audiences. With King Nagarjuna playing a crucial role, rumored to be the antagonist, and music composed by Anirudh, who has a huge fan base across languages, Coolie has all the ingredients to become a massive hit.

The makers have reportedly quoted a whopping 50 Cr value for the Telugu states rights, and some distributors are in talks to buy the rights for the entire Telugu states. To achieve break-even, Coolie needs to collect in the range of Jailer and 2 Point 0, which means it needs to gross around 100 Cr at the box office in Telugu. While collecting 100 crore gross is definitely possible with positive word of mouth, it's a challenging task, especially considering Lokesh Kanagaraj's box office track record in Telugu.

While Lokesh Kanagaraj has built a huge brand as a director, he is yet to score a sensational blockbuster in Telugu. His films, including Vikram, have not quite reached the 50 Cr gross mark in Telugu states. Even his best hit, Vikram, ended up with less than 40 Cr gross in Telugu. Therefore, Coolie needs to perform exceptionally well to reach the break-even point of 100 Cr gross and give Lokesh Kanagaraj a big break box office-wise in Telugu.
