Vetrimaaran Viduthalai Duology May Expand into Trilogy

Viduthalai Third Part in the Works

Vetrimaaran's highly anticipated "Viduthalai" Part 2 is currently in post-production, with dubbing works underway featuring actors Soori and Vijay Sethupathi. Initially envisioned as a single film, the director opted to split the story into two parts due to its vast content. Now, reports suggest that a third installment may be in the making, continuing the narrative from the sequel.

The period-action drama follows a rookie cop torn between his uniform and the people's movement against oppression. With Soori in the lead role and Vijay Sethupathi making a cameo appearance in the first part, the sequel is expected to explore the backstory of Vijay Sethupathi's character. New cast members include Manju Warrier, Kishore, Samuthirakani, and others.

Vetrimaaran has not only directed but also written the screenplay alongside writer Jeyamohan. The film is backed by Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment, with Ilaiyaraaja composing the music. "Viduthalai Part 1" is currently streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium, with the sequel set to follow suit after its theatrical run.
