With Indian 2 and Indian 3 having been in production for five years, the losses have mounted. As a result, Kollywood sources indicate that Lyca Productions might consider a direct OTT release for Indian 3.
The production house is pinning its hopes on Shankar's Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, to make a comeback. If Game Changer succeeds, it could improve the prospects of Indian 3's theatrical release. However, depending on the result of Game Changer, Lyca might persuade the parties involved to opt for a direct OTT release. Shankar's reputation as one of India's most celebrated directors might make him resistant to such a compromise.
