Akshay Kumar's "Stree 2" Cameo Sparks Talk of a Stand-Alone Film: Writer Niren Bhatt Spills the Beans

Akshay Kumar's surprise cameo in "Stree 2" has left audiences wanting more. Now, writer Niren Bhatt, who penned the film, reveals exciting details about the character's future and how the team landed the Bollywood superstar.

In an exclusive interview, Bhatt confirmed that the team has plans for every character within the "Stree" universe, including Akshay's mysterious role. While remaining tight-lipped on specifics, he hinted at a potential solo film for the character, saying, "We can make so many movies in this universe. And who wouldn't want to make a solo film like this [starring Akshay]?"

The writer shared how Akshay's involvement was a serendipitous moment. While filming "Skyforce" together, director Amar Kaushik suggested pitching the scene to Akshay. Bhatt, initially skeptical about the "too weak" role, was pleasantly surprised by Akshay's enthusiasm. "He instantly liked it and said 'karunga beta kyu nahi karunga [Of course, I will do it. Why wouldn't I do it?]'," Bhatt recalled.

While the cameo wasn't written specifically for Akshay, the scene was crucial to the story's progression, establishing a character with a direct connection to the villain, Sarkata. "He is from the same bloodline and that's why only he can tell people where to go and how to defeat him," explained Bhatt.

The writer also revealed that the scene was initially intended for a cameo, with no specific actor in mind. Akshay's captivating performance and the audience's positive response have fueled speculation about a standalone film.

With "Stree 2" breaking box office records, crossing the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide, the "Stree" universe seems ripe for expansion. Bhatt assures fans that with their commitment to this world, anything is possible, further fueling anticipation for potential future installments.
