Crazy films to fight it out during Vinayaka Chavithi at the BO

Intense BO fight during Ganesh Festival

September is set to be a battleground for Tollywood's box office, as three highly anticipated films clash for audience attention. While Sankranti and Dussehra remain the most coveted release seasons, Vinayak Chavithi is fast becoming a preferred choice for filmmakers.

Leading the charge is Vijay Deverakonda's "Vijay the Greatest of All Time Goat," directed by Venkat Prabhu. This fictional drama, generating buzz across multiple languages, is expected to be a major contender. While the distribution rights for AP Telangana are yet to be confirmed, Vijay's growing popularity in the region following "Liger" is a strong indication of its potential. The film is scheduled for a September 5th release.

Following closely is Nara Rohit's "Sundara Kanda," hitting screens on September 6th. Despite not being in the same league as Vijay in terms of star power, the teaser's visuals and positive buzz suggest a promising contender.

Rounding out the trio is Dulquer Salmaan's "Lucky Bhaskar," directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Sithara with a substantial budget. This film is slated for a September 7th release.

This triangular contest presents a unique challenge, as the films compete for audience attention within a short span. The month of August is already packed with releases like "Double Smart," "Mr. Bachchan," and "Sampada Saturday," leaving September as a strategic window.

The box office performance of these films will be crucial, especially with the absence of major releases after "Kalki 2898 AD." Maintaining the positive momentum seen in July is paramount, and the arrival of these big hero films will undoubtedly provide much-needed fuel for the industry. The temporary lull is expected to be short-lived as Tollywood gears up for an exciting year ahead.
