Vijay Devarakonda on why he acutioned his first Filmfare award

Why VD auctioned his first FF award

In a recent interview, Vijay Deverakonda shared a poignant story about his first Filmfare Award, revealing that he auctioned it off and donated the proceeds, considering it a more meaningful gesture than merely keeping a trophy. He further expressed his indifference towards certificates and awards, mentioning that some may be gathering dust in his office or tucked away at his mother's place. Notably, he mentioned giving an award to Sandeep Reddy Vanga, highlighting his unconventional approach to recognition.

Speaking to Galatta Plus about his perspective on awards, the actor, gearing up for his upcoming film "Family Star," remarked, "I am not so much into certificates and awards. Some might be at the office, some my mom has kept somewhere. Some awards I gave away. One award I gave away to Sandeep Reddy Vanga."

Elaborating on his decision to auction his first Filmfare Best Actor award, Vijay shared, "We auctioned the first Filmfare Best Actor award that I got. We auctioned it and got a good chunk of money that we gave away. I think that’s a nicer memory for me than a piece of stone in my house.”
