Lawrence on Thalaivar 171

Versatile actor and filmmaker, Raghava Lawrence, has put an end to the rumors surrounding his role as a formidable antagonist against Rajinikanth in "Thalaivar 171," directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. When contacted by DC for clarification, Lawrence emphatically stated, "There's no truth in it. But, if the opportunity arises, I am more than willing to portray any character in a film featuring Thalaivar (Rajinikanth)."

Currently gearing up for the Diwali release of "Jigarthanda Double X," Lawrence enthusiastically shared insights about the movie, including the remarkable transformation he underwent for his character. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, "Jigarthanda Double X" stars S.J. Suryah as one of the protagonists, with Nimisha Sajayan cast opposite Lawrence.

Confident that this film will be a defining moment in his career, Lawrence revealed that he had been approached for the original "Jigarthanda" but couldn't participate due to scheduling conflicts. However, he seized the opportunity to be part of this spiritual sequel and fully embraced the script.

Detailing his character in this period piece, Lawrence described himself as a 1970s gangster, complete with authentic attire such as bell-bottoms, a nose septum ring, and a tribal necklace. He explained that the film delves into black humor and painstakingly captures the dialect of a Madurai-based tribe with the assistance of a language trainer. Lawrence also disclosed that the climax of the movie is intense and emotionally charged.

Despite his reputation for exceptional dance skills, Lawrence assured audiences of a fresh perspective in this film. He revealed that director Karthik insisted on an unconventional approach to his dance sequences, integrating dialogue and whistling in a unique manner.

The actor-director also showered praise on his co-star, Nimisha, highlighting her natural ability to seamlessly transition into her role, often delivering flawless scenes in a single take, which kept him on his toes during their shared scenes.
