When Amitabh couldnt pacify Madhuri

When Big B fails to convince Madhuri

Veteran actor Tinnu Anand has made significant contributions to Bollywood's illustrious history, having directed and produced notable films such as "Major Saab," "Shahenshah," and "Kaalia," among others.

In a recent interview, he shared a fascinating anecdote from 1989 when he cast Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit in a film called "Shanakht." This marked the first on-screen pairing of the two iconic actors. However, on the first day of shooting, a disagreement arose when the Tezaab actress declined to perform a scene in which she had to wear only a bra.

Reflecting on the incident, the actor-director explained, "I had thoroughly explained the entire sequence to Madhuri, informing her that she would need to remove her blouse, revealing her bra for the first time. I emphasized that we wouldn't resort to any tricks or hiding behind props. This moment was pivotal, as she was offering herself to assist a man who was trying to help her. Hence, it was crucial, and I wanted to shoot it on the very first day. She initially agreed to it."

In the midst of the disagreement, he advised her to wrap up and bid farewell to the project. When Amitabh Bachchan arrived, Tinnu briefed him about the argument with Madhuri. Acting as a mediator, Big B attempted to reconcile them, but his efforts were futile. He remarked, "Let it go. Why argue with her now? If she had objections..." I interjected, "If she had concerns, she should have raised them earlier, before committing to the film."Despite Madhuri eventually agreeing to the scene, the film was abandoned after five days of shooting.Regarding Madhuri Dixit's recent work, her latest appearance was in the 2022 web series "The Fame Game," where she starred alongside Sanjay Kapoor. This family drama series was produced by Karan Johar.
