Vijay who is getting ready for his next release LEO, has already announced his next, Thalapathy 68 with director Venkat Prabhu. He is playing a dual role in the film, father and son. Where father is an intelligence officer and son as antagonist. This exciting project is said to have Jyotika and Priyanka Mohan as female leads.
A big news has been doing rounds in Kollywood circles that his next film, Thalapathy 69 will be with four time national award winning director, Vetrimaaran. It is also being heard that he already narrated the story to Vijay and waiting for Vijay's green signal. Vetrimaaran is known for his realistic and hard-hitting films such as Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Visaranai, and Asuran.
Vijay is also reportedly interested with the film as it is a intense political drama. He wanted to do the film as he is planning to enter into direct politics next year. It will be an exciting combination, if the film gets finalized. However, nothing has been officially announced yet and the project is still in the discussion stage.
Vijay is currently busy with the shooting of Thalapathy 68, which is directed by Venkat Prabhu. Meanwhile, Vetrimaaran is working on his next film, Vaadi Vaasal with Suriya which is based on the novel of the same name by C.S. Chellappa. The film revolves around the ancient sport of Jallikattu. The film is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and has music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. The film is expected to hit the screens in late 2023 or early 2024.
