State Governor E S L Narasimhan on Saturday greeted the people of Andhra Pradesh ahead of the Independence day on Sunday.
In a message released simultaneously to the press, Narasimhan stated that Independence day is a day of remembrance and also a day of dedication.
It is the time to bow in reverence to the memory of those whose sacrifices made it possible for us to enjoy freedom, he said. The Governor said six decades of strong economic growth and social justice in the State needs further impetus in a green environment.
"Let us build a society wherein the freedom of one person should not hurt another, where the weak emerges stronger and where the glow and glitter are not just a matter of history," he averred.
