After making futile attempts to reach Babli project in Maharashtra and the rude shock his party received in the recent by-elections, Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu turned his guns on Bayyaram mines.
Making a mention of the iron ore in Bayyaram and two other mandals of Khammam district where the deposits lay across 1.40 lakh acres, the TDP chief alleged the Government was making efforts to hand over those mines to late YSR’s son-in-law.
At a party meeting on Tuesday Naidu said the TDP would join the CPI in the fight against illegal mining in Khammam district on August 12.
Deawing parallels with Karnataka, he observed while the Congress is fighting the illegal mining in Karnataka, the Congress Government in AP is encouraging such illegal mining.
''So we will resist till all illegal mining in the state comes to a halt,'' he asserted.
