Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K.Chandrasekhara Rao was reprimanded by the Election Commission for making provocative statements.
Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao said here, while addressing the media the Election Commission expressed dissatisfaction over KCR’s reply to the notice served on him. The EC mentioned in its report that KCR’s remarks were not befitting the leader of a party president. The EC asked him not to use unparliamentarily language while criticizing leaders of other parties. The Commission further warned him that provocative remarks would not be taken lightly in future.
As reported earlier, the EC had issued a show-cause notice to the TRS chief on July 25, seeking explanation for using abusive words like 'sannasi' (useless) against the home minister during an election campaign at Sircilla on July 23,
The Commission also found fault with IT Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, and another Congress leader, Mohd Ali Shabbir, for their remarks during the electioneering for Assembly by-elections. It however, expressed satisfaction over the replies given by them to its notices. However, the IT Minister was advised not to make any promises in future, on behalf of the government during election time.
