Khammam, Aug 28 :
The Maoists on Friday called for the North Telangana bandh for September 1 and 2 in protest against the ‘repressive’ methods adopted by the State Government and the ‘increasing number of fake encounters’ in the State.
Posters not in any particular name but bearing the Maoists symbol appeared on Friday in several villages in different parts of the district. The posters that were put up to the walls in villages like Jaggayagudem, Potireddygudem, Kakinapalle and Gundala strongly condemned the ‘repression’ on the extremists by the State Government.
The posters also said that many of the Maoists leaders fell to the bullets of the police in fake encounters. The extremists called upon the people of North Telangana areas to observe bandh on September 1 and 2 to protest against these issues and to highlight the voice of the extremists.
The posters also mentioned that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders, Mr Raghupathi and Kishen should pay a heavy price. “We will soon finish these two leaders,” read the posters.
